Doctor Jones sent the sample to doctor Gey who is a researcher that had tried to grow unsuccessful cell. The book also talked about death. Henrietta lacks died from an aggressive cancer in 1951 at the age of 31years old. Her kids never knew about their mother cells such as HeLa . When skloot decided to wrote the book and decided to contact the family by Rolland Patillo. The book talked about an ironic situation in the family. the government and other people make money with the cells but the family is still poor and can't even afford health insurance.
